Pinterest is addicting! But great when looking for a specific project to do. I am apart of an event called Bark Fest, this will be my 4th year. I am in the silent auction booth and wanted to make a couple of projects to donate to the silent auction. If local, the Bark Fest is November 14, 2015 10 – 3, Orange Park, Florida at the Town Hall (Kingsley Avenue and 17). So I went to pinterest and found something called “Fall Candy Jars” which I call treat jars. The first set I made holds dog treats and the second set holds Lindor chocolates. Both I consider home decor pieces. I think both turned out awesome and I plan on making some more for Christmas gifts.
I will post pictures, then supplies, directions and the original site I got it from.
Supplies:
6 Terra Cotta Saucers ($1.00/each Ace Hardware) (Wal-Mart does not have these out this time of year)
2 Glass vases ($3.99/each Joanns)
2 Candlesticks (you can have two the same size or one taller than the other) ($3-$4/Joanns)
2 Wooden knobs ($1.99 a bag of 6/Joanns)
Paint (I used Chalk Paint, but you can use acrylic paint)
Ribbon
Candy, Treats, Candles, Potpourri, anything that will fit.
Adhesive (I do not like using a hot glue gun in Florida because it doesn’t last. So I used Quick Grip All-Purpose Permanent Adhesive. I would suggest a strong adhesive)
Directions:
Step 1: Gather your supplies
Step 2: Wash or clean your supplies. I used water and cleaned my terra cotta saucers and laid them out to dry for a few hours or one day. I used soap and water to clean the glasses.
Step 3: Remove the metal piece from the candlesticks with pliers and a flat head screwdriver. I used the screwdriver and pried the sides off first and then used the pliers to pull it out. You might not need the pliers.
Step 4: Paint your sauces, candlesticks and knobs.
Step 6: Glue your Vases to the top of your candlesticks
Step 7: Add Ribbon
Step 8: Add treats
The site I got the idea from is paintthetownpretty. She used candy corn and fall ribbon for her jars and they are super cute.
Off to my next project for the Bark Fest. If you want either the Dog Treat Jar or Candy Jar, come visit me in the Silent Auction Booth and put a bid in. Again, the Bark Fest is November 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Orange Park (Clay County) Town Hall, on the corner of Kingsley Avenue and 17 in Orange Park, Florida.
