Making more Christmas gifts.  I’m loving playing with paste and will definitely have to explore more mixed media stuff next year.  First up are two more Door Hangers (none Christmas decorated, but are Christmas gifts).

DOOR HANGERS

Door Hangers you can get almost anywhere, Joanns, Michaels, Hobby Lobby and I just saw them at Wal-Mart yesterday.
Supplies Used:

Spray the Door Hanger with a Spray Stain first, after it has dried, use a stencil and paste.  The paste I used on these are Wendy Vecchi’s Embossing Paste Gold.  I used a die cut frame on white paper, inked the paper, stamped a phrase and then added embellishments.  The flowers are petaloo and prima and then added a Tim Holtz pen nib.

These are the stencils I used.

CLOSE UPS

Next up are two burlap pieces.  One inspired by Tim Holtz’s Festive Mini Burlap Panels.  Below is my version.

Supplies:
First use texture paste and the Speckles stencil on all three burlaps.  Then spray the wreaths with Tarnished Brass Spray Stain.  With the two smaller burlaps, add ribbon and some bling.
With the middle canvas add a stamped image on a piece of 2 x 2 3/4″ paper, ink the edges of the paper (Mowed Lawn Distress Ink), then add a hinge clip, a token and some twine.
WINTER WONDERLAND BURLAP

This one is easy, just speckle the background as above, stamp and cut out some Christmas images (these stamps are Recollections from Michaels).  Ink the images and attach to canvas.
BUTTERFLY BURLAP

You start with a burlap panel and paint it with gesso.  Once dry, I used Peacock Feather and Tarnished Brass Spray Stain.  I would spray a couple of times and then blot it with a paper towel.
Supplies:
I started with butterfly stamps and stamped on white paper and then inked with Peacock Feathers and Wild Honey.  Then cut the butterfly out leaving a small border around it.
I took the Tim Holtz Trellis die and cut it twice on white paper.  The trellis border was inked with
Peacock Feathers.  The second cut I inked the paper first with Wild Honey then stamped it with Wendy Vecchi’s Splatter stamp.
I added a Graphic 45 Key Hole and used foam dots to attach the butterflies.  The key is from Hobby Lobby and was in my stash.
That is all for now.  I am working on a couple more things and will try to post before Christmas.
