I love Halloween.  So I jumped on a Halloween project early and it was easy with Graphic 45 Rare Oddities papers.  So I made an easy album, no written tutorial.  All measurements and details are on here in this post.  I just decorated large Graphic 45 tags and put them together using Tim Holtz Ruler Binding, which I painted. I have all the pages mirrored imaged from each other and each set of pages are different from the other.  Tag albums are really fun to play whether you put tags on a ring or attach them together.  Happy Halloween!

Let’s start with the binding and then the pages.
BINDING

Tim Holtz Ruler Binding.  Paint 2 layers with Seed Preservation.  Dry.  1 layer of Elmers glue, kind of thick in spots, use a paint brush to cover the entire piece.  Dry for just a few minutes to get tacky, but not fully dry.

Lastly, add 1 really thick layer of black paint, which means put a gob of paint on your paint brush.  The reason behind that is you don’t want to keep going back and forth with your paint brush, you are essentially painting over the glue.  You don’t want to mix the glue in the paint.  Let dry completely on its own, do not use a heat gun.

For thick large cracks use a thick layer of glue and for little cracks use a thin layer of glue.  I did a mixture.

PREPPING THE TAGS

Mark 3/4″ from the bottom of the tag.  Line up the ruler and trace the holes.  Use 3/16 hole punch and punch holes in all of the tags.  After you do the first tag, you can just line up the second with the first tag and trace the circles and punch the holes.  Then, score right above the 3/4″ line on all tags.
INKS
Inks used to distress all the mats and embellishments.
COVER PAGE

Cut the pieces from the dimensions above.  The skull in a jar was fussy cut.  Stamp “Rare Oddities” on the
2 1/4 x 2 3/4″ piece.  I rounded the corners of the largest piece with 1/2″ corner rounder.

Attach the base pieces first as shown above, then add the rest of the pieces.  Attach the frame last.

NOTE: After attaching each 7 3/4″ mats, punch holes at the bottom lining up with the holes already there.

PAGE 1 & 2

Take the 1/2″ strip and attach to the 1/2″ tab of your accordion piece.
I added a few embellishments, a spider web (Memory Box Haunted Web) and chipboard pieces.
Take a small chipboard piece and attach it with a brad to be a closure for the accordion piece.
Remember when doing page 2, do it as a mirror image.
PAGE 2 & 3

Attach the label piece using Tim Holtz small hinge to the largest mat before attaching the mat to the tag.  Also attach a small chipboard piece with a brad to the mat before it is attached to the tag.
PAGE 3 & 4

The corner spider webs are from the Martha Stewart Corner Spider Web punch.  I just cut them out after punching them.  On the 4 5/8 x 1 1/4″ piece, fold on the score lines and attach to the 3 5/8 x 4 1/4″ mat.  This creates a bell band for your tag.

Attach the mats and decorate.

PAGE 4 & 5

Not pictured is a small piece to hide the 1/2″ tab on the accordion which measures 3 7/8 x 1/2″.  Attach the chipboard piece with the brad before attaching the 7 3/4″ mat to the tag.

PAGES 5 & 6

Tags are not pictured above, just the mats, but the sizes are listed.

Attach the 1 1/8 x 7″ strip to the 1 3/8 x 7″ strip.  Add glue or 1/8″ tape to three sides to make a pocket.

BACK SIDE

Die: Memory Box Spooky Frame Set

Then put it all together and you got yourself an album.
