So far I have done two of these challenges (and won my first one, I’m still excited over) and this will be my third.  I must say, I really like to get inky so I really enjoyed this challenge (I type as I look at my blue fingers).

COMPENDIUM OF CURIOSITIES VOLUME III
CHALLENGE #31

The sponsor for this challenge is Inspiration Emporium who is giving away a $50.00 shopping spree.

To view this challenge, go HERE.  There are a few rules, but if you are interested just go visit Linda Ledbetter’s website for all the details. You must own your own copy of A Compendium of Curiosity Volume III to participate.

So, I did three tags because one just wasn’t enough for this technique.  First up is my “Clock Tag” using Tim Holtz Clock stencil.

 CLOCK TAG
Aside from the technique, I used a word band, some stamping and numbered rub-ons.
How do you like my crown?

BUTTERFLY TAG

I know this is layering stencil challenge, so I cheated a bit and added layering stamp/stencil.  The butterfly is the stamp.  I love how the butterfly looks.
Here’s a tip.  If you screw up stamping, which I do often, just cover it up with something.  Underneath the “Love” piece is a really bad stamp job of the same word, but crooked and blotchy.  Now you can’t tell I made a mistake.
RAYS TAG

There’s that butterfly again, I just can’t help it.  I like butterflies too much.
There you have it, three very awesome tags if I do say so my self.  Another great challenge.  I do think I’m going to continue with these challenges, they are so much fun.

  1. Wow Melissa! Gorgeous tags and examples of the stencil layering technique. How can you choose a favorite? Each is so cool and so different! Love the sunray one in white with all of the lovely shades of teal to salmon emerging from underneath. SO pretty! Love the mini layered butterfly, too! The middle tag has some beautiful layering going on! Love the white butterflies on top! They look amazing and again with the teal! My FAVORITE Color…so of course, I love this! 🙂 And the top tag with all of the weathered clock images and all of the layers underneath! LOVING it, too! Thanks so much for sharing your art and these wonderful examples of the technique with all of us at CC3C. <3 Candy

  2. Look at you making so many! Once you get going it's hard to stop…I know! I LOVE each one…the colors, the stencils, the butterflies, and the clocks!!! All unique and beautiful!!! Thanks so much for joining us at CC3C!!!
