It’s Time! Here is my Graphic 45 Design Team 2014 Audition projects. I am so excited to be applying this year for Graphic 45 and hope that my projects catch their eye. I have 7 projects to show off, but technically one project is a 3 in 1 deal. The first three projects are brand new and made specifically for this audition. The remaining projects are some of my favorite past projects. I am showing my ability to create a wide range of projects which include home decor, mini albums, projects with mini albums inside, and up-cycling/altered crafts.
My first project would be consider home decor and is called, “By The Sea Wind-Chimes.” These three wind-chimes are 4″ in height by 3″ wide, decorated with Graphic 45 By The Sea paper collection. The wind-chimes are made from wood and came from Michaels and are inked with distressed ink. The details on the wind-chimes are fussy cut from the collection. I used sand and real sea shells on two of them. Don’t mind the piece of chipboard it is attached to, that was just used to hold them up to show them off.

My second project is a Mini Birdhouse, which uses a Graphic 45 ATC box and the Botanical Tea paper collection. The box sits approximately 6″ tall. The box was painted white and the feet are bingo pieces painted white and attached to the bottom. The nest and eggs came from Michaels. The rest is decorated using the paper collection.

My third project is called “Photo Rolodex.” I wanted to make a Rolodex big enough for 4 x 6 photographs and this is what I came up with. The Photo Rolodex is made out of chipboard and paper using Graphic 45 Typography paper collection. I also used several staples from Graphic 45 such as the keys, key holes, and geometric metal door knobs. The Rolodex base stands about 8 1/2″ tall and 7″ wide, but when you include the roller (which is removable) with the pages, it stands about 13 1/2″ tall. There are a total of 13 pages with 26 layouts. You can see in the pictures that for the layout design the top page is decorated and the second page is a photo mat. Each page is a pocket with a tag for photographs as well. The roller that holds the page moves just like a regular Rolodex. The bottom portion of the Rolodex is a cubbyhole for you to put a notepad, pens, pencils, etc. in there.

My fourth project is called “Flower Planter.” The Flower Planter is made out of chipboard and paper using Graphic 45 Typography paper collection. The box portion stands at 6″ tall and 4 3/4″ wide. When adding the flowers, the height is approximately 12 1/2″ tall. I used Styrofoam in the box to hold the flowers up, which I made using paper and some flower wire. My fifth project is Humpty Dumpty Wall with Mother Goose Mini Album. This project uses the Graphic 45 Mother Goose paper collection. The wall sits on a 9 x 9″ base and approximately 5 1/4″ tall. The wall opens up on the right side to reveal a mini album inside. The mini album is 6 pages with each page depicting a mother goose nursery rhyme. Each page also contains a pocket with a cute bi-fold tag also depicting a mother goose nursery rhyme from the collection. To view more pictures and see a video on this project, CLICK HERE.

My sixth project is a 3 in 1 project. 1) Witch’s Cabinet; 2) Steampunk Clock; and 3) Spell Book. The main project being the Witch’s Cabinet. The cabinet is from a thrift store where I removed the doors and crackle painted it. It has spell books, potions, jeweled spiders, creepy candles and a dead hand. Almost everything a witch will need for her evil doings. Second, is the Steampunk Clock that is on top of the cabinet that has a circular mini album inside. The clock is a Tim Holtz Assembly Clock and uses Graphic 45 6×6 pad of Steampunk Spells. The album is a two sided album where each page rotates around and when you are done looking at the front side, you flip it over to the back, which becomes the new front. Third, is the Spell Book which uses the 12 x 12 pad of Steampunk Spells paper collection. This mini album has 6 very full pages of pockets, decorated tags, photo mats and flip pages.

Last but not least, my seventh project are Country Windmills. I have made two versions of the Windmill. One is in Graphic 45 French Country paper collection and the other one is BoBunny Autumn Song paper. The Windmills are 12″ in height which includes the base it sits on and the base is 9 1/2 x 9 1/2″. The blades actually move and the door opens to reveal a mini album inside. The mini album is 5 1/2 x 4 1/2″ with 6 pages.
